Frequently Asked

Do I need to verify my phone number?

Yes — to host a Moment or join one. Browsing the public feed doesn’t require verification. We send a one-time SMS code via Twilio.

Is ID verification required?

No. Moment verifies that you control a real phone number, not your government ID. We don’t conduct background checks — see our Safety Center for meetup safety tips.

How does hosting work?

Tap the Host tab, fill out the title, time, venue, and capacity. Set it as 1:1 or group. Guests apply by swiping right; you accept or reject. The exact venue is hidden from the public feed and only revealed to confirmed guests.

How do I apply to a Moment?

Swipe right on the card. The host reviews and either accepts or rejects. If accepted, the venue and group chat unlock.

What happens to chats after the Moment ends?

Chats automatically archive once the Moment is over. The thread stays in your archived list but no new messages can be sent.

How do I cancel my Pro subscription?

Depends on where you subscribed.

If you subscribed on iPhone: iPhone Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → Moment. Apple handles cancellation and any refunds.

If you subscribed on the web: Sign in at jointhemoment.app, visit the Store, and tap Manage — you’ll be sent to a Stripe billing portal where you can cancel renewal, update your card, or download invoices.

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Delete Account. Your profile, photos, messages, and personal identifiers are removed within 30 days. See our Privacy Policy for what we retain.

How do I report someone?

Tap the … menu on a user’s profile or the Moment detail page and choose Report. We review every report.

Is Moment on Android?

Not yet. Currently iOS only. Android is on the roadmap.
