Moments happen in real life. A few rules of thumb keep them good.
How Moment is built for safety
- Phone-verified users only. Anyone who hosts or joins a Moment has confirmed their phone number via SMS.
- Hosts curate. You don’t walk into random group chats. Hosts approve every guest.
- Venue stays private until you’re in. The exact meeting spot is hidden from the public feed and only revealed to confirmed guests.
- Block and report. You can block any user from their profile and report any user or Moment for review.
Before the Moment
- Meet in public. First meetups should be at a populated venue, never a private home.
- Tell a friend. Share where you’re going and who you’re meeting.
- Trust your instincts. If a chat or profile feels off, don’t go. You don’t owe anyone an explanation.
During the Moment
- Keep your phone with you. Don’t leave it unattended.
- You can leave anytime. Your safety beats politeness.
- Watch your drinks. Don’t accept beverages you didn’t see prepared.
Reporting
Report any user or Moment from the … menu on their profile or the Moment detail page. We review reports and take action on confirmed violations of our Community Guidelines. For sexual assault, threats, or imminent harm, also contact local emergency services first.
